My mental health message is simply this: everyone has mental health and everybody should be aware of it. When I was personally struggling, I felt suffocated – I wasn’t comfortable discussing mental health or my mental illness because I felt I might be judged. I know now that this should never be the case.  That's why I got involved with - to make sure my community knows that there is no reason to be ashamed of discussing mental health.

On my campus, we work to normalize coversations about mental health and get people talking.  And it's making such a difference! The amount of conversations I've had about mental health at my school now, after getting involved, far outweighs the number of conversations I've ever had before. We're ending the silence and helping people see that mental health is just as important and normal to talk about as physical health.

I’m ecstatic that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are just as passionate as is about ending the silence around mental health. I can't wait to meet them!
