Meet Ray Gutierrez. Ray is a recent Queen’s University grad.

He first got involved with as a photographer for Jack Summit 2015. This year, Ray was part of the planning committee for Jack Summit 2016. It’s safe to say that Ray is a superstar. And yet, the last two years could have looked very different for Ray, who originally decided not to apply for the Jack Summit 2015 photographer position.

“The idea of being a mental health activist intimidated me, I didn’t know if I was comfortable enough with my own mental health challenges to be a successful leader for the cause.” Thankfully, after some probing from another superstar, Sia Badie, Ray changed his mind, handed in his application and the rest, as they say, is history. When talking about this year’s Jack Summit, Ray can’t help but smile.  “Jack Summit 2016 is definitely in the league of being the best weekend of my life.” Thanks to Ray’s relentless hard work, 200 delegates from across the country felt the same way.
